Job Title: Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support (Year 2, Autism) Location: Alum Rock, Birmingham Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary (Until July 2025) Start Date: ASAP Salary: 100 – 110 per day

Prospero Teaching are seeking a caring and committed Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with autism at a welcoming primary school in Alum Rock, Birmingham. This is a full-time temporary position running until the end of the academic year (July 2025), with the possibility of extension.

The Role:

• Work closely with a Year 2 pupil to support their learning, communication, and emotional development.
• Follow tailored learning and behaviour strategies under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
• Create a calm, structured and supportive environment to help the pupil feel secure and focused.
• Build a positive, trusting relationship that encourages progress and independence.

You Will Need:

• Experience working with children with autism or additional needs (school or similar setting).
• A minimum of a level 2 in childcare
• A patient, empathetic and flexible approach.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• A minimum of 6 months UK experience working in a primary school.
