SLaM employs around 5000 staff and serves a local population of 1.1 million. We have over 230 services, including inpatient wards, outpatient and community services. We provide inpatient care for approximately 5,300 people annually and treat over 45,000 patients in the community across Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham, and Southwark, as well as substance misuse services in Bexley, Bromley, and Greenwich.
We launched our five-year strategy, Aiming High; Changing Lives, in 2021, alongside Our Care Improvement System to improve patient care, outcomes, and staff experience. Joining SLaM means being part of this exciting journey, supported by learning and development opportunities to realize everyone’s potential as change makers.
By working at SLaM, you will gain experience in an organization with a rich history and international reputation in mental health care, with access to professional development, learning opportunities, and collaboration with world-leading experts. In 2014, we delivered over 14,000 training experiences, and our partnership with King’s Health Partners enables staff involvement in academic research.
Our aim is to be a leader in improving health and wellbeing – locally, nationally, and globally.
