Senior Actuarial Consultant – GMP Equalisation – Nationwide

Mercer is looking to expand its team by hiring talented, ambitious, and technically proficient part-qualified or qualified actuaries. This role is within an established centre of excellence, specializing in retirement solutions, providing technical expertise and support to the UK Retirement market. We seek team players with experience in reviewing technical actuarial calculations, excellent communication skills, and business acumen.

The role involves working on GMP Equalisation projects, potentially leading to involvement in de-risking projects. It offers a vital role in delivering pension solutions across various services, with opportunities for learning and development supported by Mercer.

This position is suitable for someone with experience in DB pensions within an actuarial role. Mercer supports study for relevant examinations.

What you need to have:

  • A degree in a numerical or semi-numerical field.
  • Qualified or part-qualified actuary.
  • Understanding of UK DB pension schemes and benefit calculations.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
