Summary:

The Wrong Shop is a profitable and established online platform founded by award-winning British furniture and lighting designer Sebastian Wrong.  The site sells a curated set of limited-edition prints, posters, and objects from some of the world’s leading artists and designers, attracting collectors globally.

This role manages the brand and marketing channels to drive sales. The  successful candidate will be adept at distilling and communicating rich visual and conceptual narratives of high profile artists and their work through digital (and especially social) channels as well as managing the Shopify website.

While primarily focused on B2C sales, it also engages in B2B sales through trade and project customers. The role is an exciting mix of creative and commercial and its success will be judged by its effect on increasing sales. It is ideal for someone who can bring a past track record of growth in the interior design sector and who enjoys a high degree of autonomy and accountability.

Responsibilities:

Digital Marketing

  • Collaborate with Sebastian to set strategy and then execute tactics for all Growth initiatives; maximising sales from current customers and seeking out new customer groups.
  • Own paid advertising campaigns across search and social channels. Optimise ad spend to achieve the best ROI and CAC.
  • Bring an entrepreneurial mindset, opening and experimenting with new channels to promote growth including affiliates, influencers and partnerships.
  • Manage transactional emails and weekly newsletters, including all customer flows/automations and continue to build an active marketing database in Klaviyo. Drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention, ensuring strong open rates, click-through rates (CTR), and conversions.
  • SEO – optimise images, listings and pages with keywords.
  • Supporting with production of video and photography – product and lifestyle images.
  • Create and manage a monthly content schedule for email, blog and social media.
  • Copywriting and captioning for brand communication tasks.

Ecommerce

  • Managing our B2C store, including maintenance of our Shopify site and of international ‘Markets’ (US and EU sites).
  • Merchandising – product listings, collections, pricing amendments, discounts, inventory set-up.
  • Website optimisation – user experience touchpoints, conversion rate optimisation, integrations and apps, ensure usability and accessibility. (Meta, Connected Inventory, Accentuate, Klarna etc)
  • Analysing, presenting and reporting data to stakeholders to inform decision-making in an easily digestible way. Utilise GA4 and Hotjar to analyse website traffic, customer behaviour, and campaign performance, gleaning actionable insights.
  • Responsible for the sales forecast by partnering with product and finance.
  • Reporting on all ecom and marketing activity – weekly and monthly.
  • Artsy – manage all set-up of account and products through online art marketplace CMS.
  • Some hands-on customer support.

Experience

  • Demonstrable personal involvement in effective sales growth campaigns.
  • Broad experience of digital channels, especially Social.
  • Shopify management.
  • International marketing and operations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, with excellent understanding of grammar and punctuation.
  • Ideally a good understanding of the art and interior design customer.

Location

Hybrid working with the team based in central London.
