HGV Driver

HGV Driver / LGV Cat C+E (Class 1) Tramper DriverThe Best Connection are working with our client in Northallerton who are a prestigious transport company. They have a requirement for LGV C+E (HGV Class 1) Tramper Drivers .These positions are offered on an ongoing temporary basis.The role:

• Operate a Class 1 vehicle to specific areas, making deliveries, product pick-ups etc., and tramping out.
• Complete pre and post-operation vehicle checks in line with company policies – reporting any defects.
• Follow assigned delivery schedule and liaise with the transport team regarding progress, issues etc.
• Loads are either steel or general haulage, with the majority of deliveries unloaded at site by FLT.
• Flatbed experience is highly beneficial due to the nature of some loads.

The Candidate:

• Valid and in-date LGV C+E (Class 1) licence
• Minimum of 6 months commercial driving experience
• Must have a clean licence with no DD, DR, or IN10 convictions
• Valid and in-date CPC & Digi Card
• Flexible attitude to work

Hours of work:

• 6am shift start for first day at depot in Northallerton
• Monday to Friday – running back in on Friday
• Ad hoc day shifts also available – ideal for those wanting flexibility
• Occasional weekend work also available

Pay Rate:

• £13.75 per hour (PAYE) flat rate for all hours worked Monday to Friday
• £14.75 per hour (PAYE) flat rate for all hours worked Saturday
• £15.75 per hour (PAYE) flat rate for all hours worked Sunday
• £25.00 per night night-out allowance
