A leading local authority are seeking a skilled Payroll Officer to join their team on an interim basis, starting asap. You will play a key role in delivering a compliant, high-quality payroll service to over 15,000 employees across the County Council and partner organisations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services.
- Maintain data integrity in SAP and ensure GDPR compliance.
- Lead user testing for system upgrades and legislative changes.
- Support system enhancements, reporting, and statutory submissions.
- Advise on payroll matters and contribute to continuous service improvement.
- Deputise for the Payroll Manager as needed.
About You:
- Experience working with SAP Payroll and strong Excel (incl. Macros/VBA) skills.
- Solid understanding of payroll legislation and best practices.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
Desirable: CIPP or relevant payroll/accounting qualification.
