Shift Leader Location: Northampton, NN4 7SG Hours of work: 43 Contract Type: Permanent This role is INTERNAL ONLY and at present we are not accepting external applications. The Shift Leader plays a crucial role in driving team performance and ensuring operational excellence across all services. Job Description As a key member of the team, the Shift Leader ensures full adherence to Health and Safety regulations at all times and promotes a proactive, cooperative approach to daily operations.You’ll be instrumental in delivering high-quality service by leading a cohesive team, ensuring tasks are completed to the required standards and within agreed timelines.This hands-on role involves performing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Reactive Maintenance, and additional works or emergency callouts in line with contract requirements, with a particular focus on Electrical Services.You will also be responsible for acting as an Authorised Person (HV/LV) as required, working on a 24/7 rotating shift pattern.   • Deliver scheduled PPM to maintain electrical systems and plant reliability
  • Undertake HV/LV authorised person training and responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with H&S legislation and engineering standards
  • Maintain accurate QA records for all electrical PPM tasks
  • Respond promptly to electrical reactive maintenance and helpdesk requests
  • Conduct technical surveys and report findings with costed material lists
  • Liaise effectively with clients, resolving enquiries and complaints
  • Follow up on authorised actions to ensure issue resolution
  • Contribute to service improvements and technical innovation
  • Support the site supervisor and Critical Engineering Manager as required

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • Experience in banking environments with multiple sites
  • Strong knowledge of building services systems and equipment
  • Solid electrical and mechanical expertise
  • Familiar with current Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices
  • City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 or recognised equivalent
  • 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations certified
  • Completed electrical apprenticeship in building maintenance
  • Skilled in fault diagnosis and resolution
  • Experience with electrical elements of building PPM
  • Proficient in electrical installation, testing and inspection
