You should have good communication skills and be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the needs of young children in large and small groups and as well as on an individual basis. The successful candidate will also have the ability to approach tasks with enthusiasm, positivity, energy and commitment. Ideally, we would like the candidate to be qualified at level 3.Duties will also include some lunchtime supervision. This post is offered as a fixed term contract as maternity cover. However, continual professional development of our staff is important and it is hoped that when this post ceases the successful candidate would be well placed to apply for other job opportunities within Oxhey Wood School or the wider Agora Trust.Key Responsibilities: Assist in delivering engaging activities that promote children’s development across all areas.Support the class teacher in managing classroom dynamics and maintaining a safe, inclusive environment.Support the teaching and learning of young children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).Observe and assess children’s progress, providing feedback to help tailor individual learning experiences.Support children’s personal, social, and emotional development, helping to foster independence and positive behaviour.Contribute positively to the work of the team, sharing ideas and resources to enhance the overall learning experience.Communicate effectively with parents and carers, supporting them to engage in their child’s learning journey.We reserve the right to make an appointment before the closing date, so early applications are encouraged.Commitment to safeguarding Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
