Sales / Estimating Manager (Structural Steelwork) Location: Remote – anywhere in the UK north of Leicestershire Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Are you an experienced Estimating Manager ready to take on a leadership role within a dynamic structural steelwork team?

We’re recruiting for a Sales / Estimating Manager to play a key role in converting sales opportunities into live projects. You’ll be responsible for leading the estimating process, ensuring competitive and accurate pricing while managing and developing a high-performing Estimating and Sales team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Estimating and Sales Team to deliver departmental targets

  • Manage all incoming project enquiries

  • Negotiate with sub-contractors and suppliers to achieve competitive pricing

  • Personally convert a minimum of 3 enquiries per week, while supporting the wider team

  • Work closely with clients, engineers, architects and internal teams

  • Attend pre-tender interviews and post-tender presentations

  • Prepare accurate and timely reports on pipeline activity

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and consultants

  • Regularly review team performance and provide coaching and feedback

What We’re Looking For

  • BSc/HNC in Building Studies or equivalent experience

  • Experience in structural and/or civil engineering within a construction environment

  • Familiarity with project pricing for steel structures (50 – 3,000 tonnes)

  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings

  • Commercial awareness and value engineering experience

  • Experience using Tekla for constructability review (advantageous)

  • Confident communication and leadership skills

  • Competence with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project

  • Self-motivated and capable of working under own initiative

  • Previous line management experience

Chartered status (MCIOB or RICS) and steelwork design knowledge are desirable but not essential.
