Job Purpose:
- Deliver teaching and assess learning across a range of courses, catering to both 16-18-year-olds and adult learners. Courses will range from Level 1 to Level 3, including college-based qualifications and apprenticeships.
- Collaborate effectively within a strong, dynamic team, working closely with the Senior Curriculum Manager and colleagues across the College.
- Actively engage in professional development related to both industry-specific expertise and teaching/assessment practices.
Role-Specific Duties:
- Teach accredited Electrical qualifications both within the College and on employers’ premises.
- Support the development of Electrical qualifications within the Directorate.
- Design and deliver flexible training programs to develop the knowledge and vocational skills necessary for students to succeed.
- Serve as a point of contact between the Directorate, employers, and awarding bodies regarding Electrical qualifications.
- Ensure compliance with the contractual obligations of awarding bodies and QCA standards.
- Assess and train students and apprentices, from induction to achievement, ensuring adherence to QCA frameworks.
- Respond proactively to employer needs, providing high-level customer service.
- Conduct diagnostic assessments of learners and compile individual learning plans.
- Undertake course reviews and other procedures to ensure quality assurance in line with the College’s Common Inspection Framework.
- Provide regular progress updates to the lead Internal Verifier and attend necessary meetings.
- Align training courses with accredited qualifications, ensuring all assessment and review procedures meet Awarding Body requirements.
- Maintain detailed records of training sessions, including session aims, objectives, and activities.
- Prepare reports for the Curriculum Manager and Directorate Administrative team as required.
- Ensure all records meet the contractual requirements of external funders.
- Promote the Directorate’s services to employers and other relevant partners.
- Conduct research and needs analysis to guide the development of tailored training programs.
- Handle administrative tasks related to the role as necessary.
Person Specification:
- Relevant teaching or training qualification (e.g., PTTLS, DTTLS, PGCE).
- A1 Assessor Award (V1 Award is desirable).
- Qualified Electrician with 17th Edition certification.
- Experience working effectively within a team and collaborating with colleagues.
- Experience embedding E-Learning into course delivery is desirable.
- Proficient in developing assessment plans and schemes of work.
- Previous experience working in an Electrical role.
- Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and organizational skills.
