Purpose of the role
Our business is growing, we’re looking for an experienced Global Payroll Manager to ensure the effective delivery of payroll through a network of 3rd party suppliers across Continental Europe, the UK and APAC. This role will lead the global payroll team and liaise with a wider network of key stakeholders as required (including HR and Finance and our Country CEOs).
Key Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the payroll vendor/s to develop and enhance processes for margin improvement and continuous high quality service delivery – coordinating the end-to-end payroll process in line with relevant laws and best practices within the required timeframes.
- Develop and implement rigorous quality control measures internally and with the payroll vendor/s to minimise payroll errors and discrepancies
- Ensure regular audits of the payroll and payment data to identify and resolve issues
- Develop a Payroll Standard Operating Procedures document for all markets
- Own the adoption of payroll best practices, new, automation and optimisation of global payroll management. Maintain payroll process documentation and update as required, including severance calculations.
- Foster a customer-centric culture with the payroll team, ensuring queries are addressed promptly
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators related to customer satisfaction, process adherence, payroll timeliness and accuracy for the internal teams and vendor/s
- Manage and mentor the payroll team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment embedding strong management principles. Set clear goals and expectations for the team, giving regular feedback and coaching where necessary
- Manage all payroll related queries raised globally, following them through to resolution.
- Understanding and interpreting relevant awards and calculating wages, allowances, penalty rates, and other entitlements.
- Manage and administer the pension process, payroll tax and Workers Insurance providers.
- Ensure compliance with legislative laws and regulations in accordance with internal policies Deliver all compliance submissions and returns in a timely manner and ensure that all year-on-year payroll tasks are completed.
- Collaborate with our global mobility provider where appropriate to ensure international assignees are accurately paid and their tax treatment is correctly processed.
- Ownership of continuous improvement and efficiency gains as a key objective measure
Role Capabilities:
- Demonstrable experience of leading a Global Payroll Function
- Strong knowledge of global legislative requirements and best practice
- Comprehensive understanding of payroll legislation, including PAYE, tax codes, pensions, and statutory payments.
- Strong service ethos and skills supported by hands on customer service delivery experience in an office environment.
- Ability to work under pressure in a reactive environment with conflicting demands and be comfortable with ambiguity.
- Demonstrable experience in working with key stakeholders such as HR and Finance Operations
- Ability to demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills across all levels of management.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Strong understanding and respect for confidentiality
- Meticulous and accurate with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience with SAP SuccessFactors is desirable, but not essential.
