The Geophysicist is responsible for collecting, processing, interpreting, and analyzing geophysical data acquired to produce accurate and informative maps and models of the sub-seafloor geology. You will work in a great team in the office in Norwich, UK, or Naples, IT. As a geophysicist, you play a key role in our goal to meet and excel our clients’ requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Production of the data deliverables during the project operations. Monitoring and promptly reporting any data quality issues with the processing results.
- Interpreting the processed data (SSS/SBP/MAG).
- Producing final deliverables in line with the company quality standards and project requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in geophysics, geology, or a related field is typically required; experience in the role within the offshore survey industry may be considered.
- Experience with SonarWiz/SeaView/CODA/Oasis Montaj processing suite; similar software may be considered.
- Ability to QA/QC SSS/SBP/MAG data.
- Proficiency with GIS software, such as ArcGIS and QGIS, is required.
- Ability to produce ESRI compliant geodatabases, integrating all survey data to the client’s specification.
- Offshore experience is preferred.
- A familiarity with geological/geophysical equipment can be helpful.
- Good written and oral English.
- Must be able to travel freely.
- Proactive people with great communication skills are essential in working with other members of a survey team. Reading and interpreting client requirements, and presenting results to clients are valuable skills. It is also important to be well organized, have time management skills, an eye for detail, and be quality driven.
